It has been so long since the last time I have written anything in here. I guess, too much has been going on lately. Changes in personal life, changes at work, at uni, to put in simpler: too many changes. Due to so many things happening recently, I didnt have enough time to catch up with reading, to be honest the last book that I have actually managed to finish was Cloud Atlas ( it still deserves a proper review – it was just toooo good!). I have tried to Finnish Pelican Brief during my flights home last month. Still home like a half of the book left.
I have finished my 2nd year, hopefully, I will be able to take intellectual property law as my additional subject starting from 3rd year. Finally, I would be able to concentrate more on what exactly I want to do with my degree in the future.
I have so much to tell about my recent trips, however during past few months it was so hard for me to find enough time to get to it properly. I hope, that with October, I will finally find time to explain all the big changes that have been going on for a while now. Before that, let me share one of the best photos I managed to take this summer (and yes, SURPRISINGLY, this is from Paris, France!)
First, I would like to apologize for neglecting the blog for the past 2 weeks. Because of the uni I didn’t have enough time to focus in writing anything constructive. So what has been going on? I moved (again) so it will take me couple of day to settle in the new flat. I’ve been trying to read as much as I can, and finally managed to finish Mistborn trilogy Originally I have planned to post a separate review of the Hero Of Ages and a my personal summary of the whole series, but I couldn’t find enough time to do that. Perhaps I will try to share my thoughts of the Mistborn series-world after finishing the Alloy of Law which I am nearly finishing reading .
In between of these 2 weeks I have tackled Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell, which literally blew my mind away. It has been a long time since I had to read through the nights in order to find out the end of the story in the plot. I am impressed by the simplicity in which the author combined the stories as a one big picture. I am planning to watch the movie based on the book by the Wachowski brothers, hope they will not let me down, however the expectations are VERY high!
New year, new year’s resolutions and new plans. Even though I am approaching The 2013 Reading Challenge slightly more realistically, I am trying finally to hit 50 books, and improve my last year’s failure.
January is going to be my movie-background read. So many interesting films are coming out (includes the ones which had their premiere in December 2012), that is why I have decided to try to read as many books (which the movies have been based on) as I can, so I can have a clear overview before going to the movies.
So where do I start? Definitely at finishing Hero of Ages, which is with me for over 2 weeks already. My list for future reads for January 2012 includes:
Cloud Atlas by David Mitchell (got by paperback copy for Christmas as a gift from my mother – so that should be oneof the books which I actually will not read on my kindle) , Life of Pi By Yann Martel, Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, and then, I am planning to finish the month by (at least starting) with Les Misérables by Victor Hugo.
